2008 NEWS 10/01/08 It's a new year and a new venture for me. I've retired from racing and with my cousin, Michael Jackson, I'm opening a new motorcycle shop soon, we're getting it sorted now. There'll be more news on here when it's open. EAGERLY AWAITED NEWS 14/02/08 I have opened my new shop in partnership with my cousin, Michael Jackson. It's called Viva Moto Ltd, and we are selling used road bikes and track bikes, we also buy bikes for cash and will part exchange. There's still some work to be done to the shop but we are open for business. We are planning a web site soon, so news on that will be on here. New contact details are on the 'contact' page, for now please contact me on my mobile and my personal email address. Will keep you all updated with the latest news. 22/02/08 My contact details have now been updated with email address and phone number. NEWS 3/03/08 Just to let you all know our opening hours. Monday - Saturday 9.0am - 5.30pm Sunday - 10.30am - 3.30pm MORE NEWS 6/03/08 The shop is looking better now, and Joan has taken some pictures which are in the gallery. The web site is now up and running - www.vivamoto.co.uk. Please take a look and if you see anything you like then contact us, or, if you can, come and see us and take a test drive. We deliver all over the country at reasonable rates. All our bikes are good quality, clean, in good running order and come with a current M.O.T and are taxed. Stock changes daily, so keep checking the web site or give us a ring. If you are looking for something specific, then give us a ring and we will do our best to find it for you. To find us click here for a map. We are situated to the west of Bradford, in Buttershaw, just off the B6380. NEWS 7/04/08 Hi all, Joan is keeping this site up to date, now and then, with some pictures of one or two of the bikes we have for sale. Please visit our site www.vivamoto.co.uk to check if any are still for sale as our stock changes daily, and please don't hesitate to contact us about any bike that you're interested in. I'm hoping to have time to do one or two track days soon, and if Joan can get there some pictures will be on here. In the meantime the shop is doing well and, with my cousin, I'm enjoying sourcing the bikes and running the shop. OULTON PARK 20/05/08 Hi all, at last I've managed to find time to do a track day at Oulton Park. I bought a Suzuki K7 and did a bit of work on it, only finishing it last night. It was great to be back on a bike on track again, and having some fun. My dad and some other friends were there as well, and we all enjoyed our day out. Our trusty photographer managed to get there also, and she's put some pictures in the Gallery, hope you enjoy them. I'm on the look out for a Yamaha R1 as the handling suits my riding style better, and I'll be aiming to do a few more track days this year. The shop is doing OK, but it takes up a lot of time, so I won't be returning to racing, just doing a few track days because I like riding bikes on track, not on the road, it's safer that way!! MALLORY PARK 25/06/08 Hi everyone, I went to Mallory Park for the afternoon, I was riding my dad's new Yamaha R1. We had a small problem with it so I didn't quite get as much track time as I wanted, but it was still fun, until I had an "off" and broke a couple of bones, but I'll be back. Joan lives quite near to Mallory so she came over for a couple of hours and took some pictures which you can see in the gallery. Keep checking this website for news, and also check out the bikes we have for sale at www.vivamoto.co.uk, thanks. NEWS 5/07/08 I had the broken bones in my hands plated yesterday, so that's me not being able to ride a bike for quite some time, but I'm OK. I hope to be able to do track days again eventually. NEWS 2/09/08 Hello everyone, it's Joan here. I was on holiday at Penrith so I went to see Michael. His hands are getting better and he's OK. He's talking about getting a Yamaha R1 for next year. The shop is doing well and he's had to expand into another unit to accommodate the sold bikes and the workshop. He's got a new addition to the family, a lovely little white and tan Jack Russell called Jess and she's so friendly. It was a fun afternoon and there were a few customers and visitors during the afternoon. I'll be going to see him again sometime during the next couple of months or so, and any news will be on here. Sorry for the delay in loading this up but I was on holiday and then went to Knockhill. SOME HAPPY NEWS 16/10/08 Michael and Gill have another new addition to the family, a lovely little bundle of joy named Valentina Maddelena, born yesterday. Mum, dad and baby are all fine, so too are Lucy and Jess. Hoping to go and see them all soon. Please may I request NO mention of this on the BSB forum, thank you. Any messages can be sent via the Guest Book on the Contact page. Joan NEWS 22/12/08 Have been to see Michael and Gill and the family twice now, and they are all well and happy. Valentina has grown and she is gorgeous. Jess is still a fuss pot and loves sitting on anyone's knee who will let her. The shop is still doing well. Will be seeing them all again in a month or two. Joan
